Who Can Tell?

Who Can Tell

Have you ever read a passage in the bible and say wow what a crazy man or woman? God told them to go this way, and they still went the other way! Well, let’s take a quick trip through one such example of this that we can read.

God came to a preacher named Jonah. He asked Jonah to go preach a message to Nineveh. Jonah didn’t want to preach to Nineveh, and decided to flee from God’s presence and travel toward Tarshish. Jonah disobeyed God; God put Jonah in the belly of the great fish to get his point across. When the God’s word came to Jonah the second time he went and delivered a great message. A message, which three days earlier Jonah would flee from preaching. A message that needed to be sent to the people of Nineveh. A message of 8 words only….“Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown”. A message that saved an entire city from the righteous wrath of God

Wow! Listen friend when God asks you to do something, that task is yours to do. We may not like it, we may not know how to do it, or as in Jonah’s case we may not want to do it. There may be a time in which you are asked to witness to a Godless neighbor, or to the person in front of you at Walmart. It could even be befriending a long time enemy. You may not know what to say, or how you will bring it to light. Listen God doesn’t call the qualified; he qualifies the ones he calls. We all have a part to do in getting the message of Christ Jesus to the world. You may feel that you don’t have the tools, the knowledge, or the strength to do what God would have you do. Who can tell what you can do when you let go and let God? Who can tell what the young Christian can do when he or she is shining the example of God by other young people going the wrong way? Who can tell what God can do with that one who is in their last days on earth and witnesses to those in their presence of how the Lord kept them all these years and will keep them on the other side? Who can tell what God can do with the new Christian who can only tell you how good God is to them? Who can tell what God can do with the Father that makes a stand and says as for me and my house we shall serve the Lord? If Jonah’s obedience and a 8 word sermon caused the mighty city Nineveh to repent and cry out mightily to God for mercy, who can tell what God can do with you if you will trust, obey and believe?
